We recently held a very special dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Marlow to celebrate the long service of so many of our staff team. As our residents will know, our team are hugely committed to Bradbury House and we have many long-standing members of staff. Over eighty people attended the event, hosted by the Trustees of Bradbury House, and 36 members of staff received long-service awards from Bradbury House’s President, The Hon. Jenefer Farncombe. All the staff receiving the awards have served Bradbury House for ten years or more and, amazingly, 18 of them have been with us for over fifteen years, with 4 of these enjoying over twenty years of service.

Staff from Bradbury House celebrating long service

In a world where loyalty and commitment are in short supply, Bradbury House was delighted to celebrate the 36 members of the team who between them have clocked up over 520 years of service – not bad going for a home that was opened just 25 years ago! Everyone was delighted to have the opportunity to dress up and enjoy the glamour of the evening. Deputy Manager Sue Brown reflects: “We had a lovely evening celebrating our long service, I am privileged to be part of a team of such dedicated staff, who really care. I have worked at Bradbury House for 22 years as part of the management team and was so proud to hear that collectively the management team of four have served for 80 years. It really is a special place to work.”

The joyful evening was filled with such warmth and good humour as all the guests enjoyed a delicious meal before the awards ceremony, where each member of staff was presented with a personal certificate by The Hon. Jenefer Farncombe. Reflecting on the success of the evening, Paul Bosson, Chairman of Trustees, commented. “It is a privilege to celebrate our long-serving staff who are the cornerstone of the excellent care provided to the residents of Bradbury House.  The Trustees have always understood that Bradbury House’s reputation for its quality of care is directly linked to our committed, loyal and experienced care team.  The fact that more than half of our staff have served the residents of Bradbury House for 10 years or more speaks for itself!”

The palpable feeling of community and family at Bradbury House is helped by the fact that a significant number of staff actually are family! Bradbury House has a husband, wife and mother-in-law team, as well as various mothers, daughters, sisters and cousins that all work together in harmony, making sure Bradbury House is truly a home from home.
