beaconsfieldA splendid day was had by all who participated in the event, which was held at Beaconsfield Golf Club. In all around sixty-four golfers of all standards signed up to play in the afternoon and they were joined by sixteen guests in the evening for an excellent dinner. The eighteen teams revelling in names such as ‘The Odds Balls’, ‘The Delusional Optimists’, ‘Ever Hopeful’ and ‘The Amberley Amblers’, which included Tony Baldwin who had helped organise earlier Golf Days and travelled from his new home in Amberley to be able to participate in the event. The team named ‘Last of the Summer Wine’, which included trustee Rod Marsden, won the competition although two other teams were hot on their day
Trustee and Honorary Treasurer, Richard Mann, coordinated the day’s proceedings supported by his wife, Linda, who is also a familiar face around Bradbury House as a volunteer and regular companion to our House dog Ben on his walks around the local countryside. Richard commented: ‘We had a super day, while raising significant funds for our Supporting Care Fund which aims to provide financial assistance to residents and day care facility users alike’.
