Bradbury Activity Centre

Our purpose-built Activity Centre is used by our residents as well as our non-resident day-care visitors from the local community. The carefully planned programme of social and physical activities is designed to stimulate and entertain as well as give a sense of well-being and connection.

A Range of Activities is on Offer

Not only do we have a full range of regular activities including quizzes, games, seated exercise and crafts, we also have visits from entertainers and speakers, right through to a travelling zoo! We encourage our residents to let us know their interests and arrange activities accordingly. Residents are able to cook and learn new skills in our purpose-built kitchen and there is a homely area with comfortable chairs and a fireplace for those who simply want to relax, as well as our Garden Room.

The Therapy Room

The Therapy Room attached to the Activity Centre is fully equipped for hairdressing by our regular stylists or, by arrangement, by a resident’s own hairdresser. It is also a suitable venue for visiting qualified practitioners to provide services such as chiropody, manicuring, simple physiotherapy and aromatherapy.

Computer Access

To meet the needs of those residents who use a computer and require access to the internet and email, we have wi-fi throughout the home and a variety of iPads and tablets for use.

Trips on the Minibus

Bradbury House has its own minibus enabling residents to travel further afield. Popular trips include our annual river boat outing, a visit to the seaside and a pre-Christmas visit to see the London lights. There are also regular trips to garden centres, cinemas and theatre visits and, when the weather is less inviting, mystery drives around the lovely Buckinghamshire countryside.

Activities include:

  • Visits from local nursery children to enjoy activities together
  • Arts and crafts
  • Music therapy
  • Crosswords and games
  • Local trips out on our minibus
  • A therapy room to enable activities such as hairdressing, manicures and chiropody
  • Laptops and iPads available to use
