It’s been a busy summer at Bradbury House with some well-supported events, exciting activities and the opportunity to make the most of our extensive gardens. One of our biggest events of the year is our annual Summer BBQ, where friends and family come and join our residents for an afternoon of good food and good company. It was a day of sunshine and smiles and it was wonderful to have such a good turnout.
Our lovely location in the midst of the beautiful Chilterns means there are lots of opportunities for interesting day trips at Bradbury House. Mystery Tours of the countryside are always popular outings and we enjoyed several this summer. We were also lucky enough to get to the Swan Upping in Henley-on-Thames. This annual event takes place every July and is an important part of swan conservation. It involves The Queen’s Swan Warden collecting data, assessing the health of young cygnets and examining them for any injuries. The Royal Swan Uppers travel in traditional rowing skiffs and wear the red livery of Her Majesty, the Queen. It was a wonderful spectacle and we were delighted to witness it.

Music plays a prominent part in our Activity Centre. We recognise the benefits that music brings to our residents and our programme of events includes visiting singers and musicians to entertain everyone. Recent performers include Pete Morton, Terry James and our very own handyman Mike and his wife, Margaret.
We’re looking forward to an equally stimulating and busy Autumn!
